Exposing Your Kids for FREE

Exposing your kids for FREE . . . to Art!

Fun art.

The Cottonwood Art Festival is coming up the first weekend in May.

10 AM – 8 PM Saturday
10 AM - 6 PM Sunday
May 5-6, 2012
Cottonwood Park, 1321 W. Beltline Rd., in Richardson, TX 75080.

For over 40 years, this festival has drawn over 240 local, regional and national artists as well as local and regional bands performing the best music in rock, country, jazz, band and swing.

While my husband will be all about that part of the festival, I'm most excited about ArtStop - the kids area at the Cottonwood Art Festival. This hands-on, interactive area is staffed by more than 100 volunteers. Check out some of the activities your little artists can participate in:

Crazy Cool Caps- Let the kids show off their pint-sized personalities by creating their own over-the-top hat! There's plenty of glitter, feathers, pompons, ribbon and foam shapes for all to use!

Throwin' Mud- It's ok for the kids to play in the mud at this activity station with Masta Potta, Mr. Kirby!

Canvas Classics

Bag Full of Color- Kids can "go-green" while using their imaginations to paint canvas backpacks, which are handy for toting around their Cottonwood Artstop masterpieces!

Petite Pottery- Just in time for Mother's or Father's day! Kids can paint their own petite pottery, the perfect gift for mom and dad.

The Big Picture- Kids can leave their mark on Cottonwood Art Festival by painting a piece on the Monster Mural!

And all of that is FREE!!! Our crew will be headed over early on Saturday, May 5th. Hope to see you there.
