Worthy Cause: American Widow Project

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a worthy cause with you. But today I thought it was fitting to share the American Widow Project.

Taryn Davis lost her 22-year old husband four years ago in Iraq. Four months after her loss, Taryn began the American Widows Project to bring together the almost 3,000 women who have been widowed during the war on terror. The women share and support each other. They find a way to move on and honor the memories of their husbands.

On this Memorial Day, my heart breaks for these ladies who have given the most important thing in their life in order to secure my way of life. I can’t even imagine. I’m honestly left speechless trying to come up with an appropriate way to express my gratitude. It’s beyond words.

I think the least we can do is help these ladies reach other ladies who have recently lost their husbands. If you are interested in finding a way to support the American Widows Project, you can find more information on www.americanwidowproject.org.
