I am so excited. I have been wanting to work with Joy of Soap for several months now, and they have agreed to be a sponsor for Blogmania. (I know you are probably losing track of how many great sponsors we have. Feeling FriskyJoy of Soap makes incredible handmade soaps and sent me three different kinds to try out – Manly Man, Feeling Frisky, and Jump Me Jasmine. Such fun names, right? :) LOL I still want to try the Two in the Shower Tea Tree!

The Joy of Soap website explains:

All of our moisturizing spa soaps begin with a base of organic olive, coconut, and palm oils plus castor oil mixed with therapeutic grade essential oils and exfoliants. Our soaps are great for all skin types, and they are hand cut so the exact weight of each bar may vary slightly.

My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the bars of soap. In fact, we have been strategizing how to make them last longer. I wish I had a never-ending supply of this soap. When I use it I feel as if I am pampering myself . . . almost like I’ve made a quick trip to the spa.

A 2 oz. bar of soap will run you $3.50 and a 5 oz. bar is $7.50. In the Spring of 2011, Joy of Soap will also begin offering cleansers, creams and scrubs. I hope they include me on the media blitz for that as well.

I love it when I can find a store that carries not just one thing I like, or a couple of things that are interesting . . . but ALL of their stuff makes me want to take it home with me. Not too long ago, I told you about my experience with Tropical Traditions organic coconut oil . Tropical Traditions was gracious enough to giveaway a bottle of that oil to one of the MelissaStuff readers. Recently, they offered to send me their palm shortening to try out. I love to bake so I was all about that offer. I was surprised when the “sample” arrived and it was a 1 gallon pail of shortening. I’m pretty sure that’s enough to make cookies for the next decade or so! Fair warning – when you go to use this for the first time, know that it will be difficult to get the lid off and if you aren’t particularly handy, you might want to have someone else around to help you. I didn’t and it took me about ten minutes, several different tools, and even breaking the tip off of an industrial file before I could get it. Organic Detergent? {Giveaway}

So technically, I don’t think this detergent is actually organic, but it is non-toxic and environmentally safe. Can you say that for your detergent? This product was a surprise to me. I’m not picky about my detergent, but the only thing I do care about is how my detergent smells. Before I used Tropical Traditions Powdered Laundry Detergent I was concerned that it would have a chemical smell or worse the clothes would end up not smelling clean. But it smells GREAT without having any specific scent to it . . . it just smells clean . One thing that’s nice is it only takes 2 oz. to wash an entire load, so this fairly small container will do quite a number of loads – 40 to be exact.
