Do you ever have days where you just don’t want to live in the realities of life?

I do.

Like today. I’m sure some of you have noticed that I was absent much of the weekend – due to a lack of available, working computers in our household – and today, when I should be hitting it hard? Yeah, I’m not. Total dilly-dallying over here. That’s me.

Joey and I have been talking about how much we just want to “get away.” Not that we don’t love our children. Not that we aren’t incredibly blessed. But I just want to sleep. Sleep until I want to get up. Sleep until my eyes open 100% on their own. Sleep until I feel like I couldn’t possibly sleep another wink for at least 12 hours.

Unfortunately, even if you offered to take my kids for an entire weekend, I wouldn’t sleep. I would stay up late enjoying being alone with my hubby. Watching movies, laughing at each other, surfing the Internet, you know. Then I’d get up before I was ready the next morning to make the most of my day. And when I got my children back at the end of the week, I would very likely be just as tired, maybe MORE tired than I was when it began.

This coming weekend is Labor Day and I was hoping to get away – even if my kiddoes came along. Doesn’t look like that’s going to happen either.

But today in my not blogging time on the Internet, I did find this Hampton Chain of Friends Sweepstakes. Hampton Inn and Hotels are giving away an ENTIRE hotel for a weekend. That’s 100 rooms. Can you imagine? What a party! (Although, I don’t foresee that doing anything to help me get over this exhaustion.)
